  • staff pic Mr. Jim Brophy Term ends: 14 June 2015

    Jim Brophy graduated from Queens University Belfast with an Honours degree in Pure Mathematics. He qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 1985 and has worked as a consulting actuary in the Financial Services sector in London and Dublin for over 25 years. In recent years he has also worked as a volunteer for the charity GOAL, and is an Accredited Commercial Mediator, mediating settlements in both business and medical negligence cases.

    Jim has been appointed to Council as a public interest nominee.

    Leonie Clarke studied pharmacy in Trinity College Dublin and holds an MSc by research and diplomas in legal studies and accounting and finance. She runs her own pharmaceutical consultancy, focusing primarily on compliance with medicines legislation, corporate governance and quality management. She started her career as Assistant Registrar of the PSI.  She has several years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry and also spent time in academia.

    John Collins grew up in Limerick city and studied pharmacy in Trinity College Dublin, registering with the PSI in 1986. After some initial community experience in the Dublin area, he subsequently held positions in University College Hospital London and the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton. John and his wife (also a pharmacist) returned to Ireland in 1992 and opened their community pharmacy in Kinsale, Co. Cork. He is also a crew member of the Kinsale RNLI lifeboat.

    John Corr has a BSc Hons in Pharmacy from John Moores University Liverpool (1988).

    After qualifying, he worked at the O'Brien Pharmacy Group in Liverpool until 1994, having also spent six months working in hospital pharmacy in Australia.After returning to Ireland, John purchased a pharmacy at Clonshaugh in Coolock, Dublin 17 in 1995. He has since opened a further four community pharmacies of which he is superintendent pharmacist and company director.John has served on the Department of Health methadone implementation committee as nominee of the old PSI and has also experience working on behalf of community pharmacy contractors with the health service.

  • staff pic Ms. Margaret Doherty Term ends: 21 May 2013

    Margaret Doherty graduated from the School of Pharmacy in Trinity College in 1984. She returned to Donegal to complete her pre-registration training with the late Tom Carley in Raphoe and never left there, taking over the practice from him in 1994. From 1999 until 2008 she held the position of Community Pharmacy Advisor to the North Western Health Board, working on such areas as out-of-hours care, smoking cessation and a DUMP campaign. In 2007 she received a diploma in Coronary Heart Disease Prevention in Primary Care from the University of Huddersfield.

    Margaret is a pharmacist appointee to the PSI Council.

    Paul Fahey is a Community Pharmacist from Tullamore, Co Offaly. He holds a B.Sc. (Pharm) Hons and a Post Graduate Diploma (Community Pharmacy) from Queens University, Belfast. He is also currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Health Informatics in Trinity College Dublin.  He is owner of Fahey’s Pharmacy, Patrick Street, Tullamore and also works as a freelance IT Consultant.

    Paul is a pharmacist appointee to the PSI Council.

    Paul is currently the President of the PSI.

  • staff pic Dr. Ann Frankish Term ends: 21 May 2013

    Dr Ann Frankish is a former member of the Council of the old PSI, serving as Vice-President and President of the old PSI. She graduated from the UK and first registered with the PSI in 1983. For the past 23 years she has served as Chief Pharmacist at the Rotunda Hospital, Dublin.

    Ann is a pharmacist appointee to the PSI Council.

  • staff pic Mr. Eoghan Hanly Term ends: 21 May 2013

    Eoghan Hanly graduated from Robert Gordon University Aberdeen 1995 with a degree in Pharmacy. Since 1996 he has practised as a pharmacist in his family’s pharmacy in Loughrea, Co Galway, which was established by his grandfather, P.J. Killian in 1940.

    Eoghan is a pharmacist appointee to the PSI Council.

    Eoghan is currently the Vice-President of the PSI.

  • staff pic Dr. Jean Holohan Term ends: 14 June 2015

    Dr Jean Holohan qualified in medicine from Trinity College, Dublin in 1980. Her post- graduate career included clinical specialisation in anaesthesia followed by business and management experience in the pharmaceutical industry. In April 2006, Jean was appointed CEO of the Asthma Society of Ireland, whose work is focussed on service delivery to meet the needs of patients and parents of children with asthma.

    Jean has been appointed to the PSI Council as a public interest nominee.

  • staff pic Mr. Aidan Horan Term ends: 21 May 2013

    Aidan Horan is a qualified accountant, who specialises in the area of governance of state bodies and public benefit entities. He is currently a board member of the Public Finance and Management Board of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) in London. He is a former member of the PSI Audit Committee.

    Aidan has been appointed to the PSI Council as a public interest nominee.

    Ita is a retired Community Mental Health Nurse. She qualified as a R.G.N. (Hons) St. James’s Hospital and R.P.N. (Hons) St. Ita’s Hospital. She is also Treasurer of the Friedreich’s Ataxia Society of Ireland.

    Ita has been appointed to the PSI Council as a public interest nominee.
