Acting Registrar appointed

December 10, 2015

This week, the Council of the PSI appointed Damhnait Gaughan, Head of the Registration and Qualification Recognition Unit, as Acting Registrar of the PSI. This follows Marita Kinsella stepping down as Registrar in order to commence a new position in the Acute Hospitals Policy Unit in the Department of Health. A public recruitment process will commence in the New Year to appoint a permanent replacement to the role of Registrar/CEO.

Damhnait is a registered pharmacist and joined the PSI in 2002. She has worked in many roles across the organisation and was involved in implementing the increased regulatory functions arising from the introduction of the Pharmacy Act 2007. In her capacity as Acting Registrar, Damhnait looks forward to engaging with the PSI’s many registrants and stakeholders in relation to the various areas of the PSI's work.
