Compliance status 

The PSI website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 level AA. 

The PSI website is subject to Simplified Review by the National Disability Authority (NDA) from May 2022. This is one of the monitoring options available to the NDA as the monitoring authority for accessibility of public sector websites in Ireland. Review of our website, which is ongoing has identified accessibility issues.

  • Some PDF documents are not fully accessible to screen readers, including missing alt attribute values, missing text equivalent for images, missing structural tags and invalid table structures 
  • There are issues with colour contrast 
  • Some forms do not have labels 
  • Some documents do not identify the language of the text 
  • Some links are not accessible to screen readers 
  • Some ID attributes are used more than once in the same webpage 
  • Some lists are not structured correctly 
  • Some elements of image maps do not have alternate text 
  • Some i-frame and frame elements do not have a unique title to describe their content to screen readers 
  • Some images are missing alternate text
