Complainant: The Registrar and Chief Officer of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (“PSI”)

Respondent: Mr Gines Sanchez Ros MPSI (Registration No. 9107) 

Terms of Resolution of Mediation

The Complainant and the Respondent have entered into a mediation process pursuant to a mediation agreement, dated 27 July 2021, in respect of a complaint made by the Registrar and the Parties have agreed as follows: 

  1. Mr. Sanchez Ros acknowledges that his conduct in:

    a. failing to follow public health advice requiring the restriction of movement following his return from overseas travel to Spain for family reasons on 20 July 2020 during the COVID-19 global pandemic, and

    b. working at his Pharmacy in Dublin for 7 days in July 2020, 

    when he knew that this was in breach of public health guidelines in the context of the COVID-19 global pandemic, was a breach of trust, irresponsible, and unprofessional.

  2. In recognition of the acknowledgement given in paragraph 1, Mr Sanchez Ros apologises and consents to being censured by the Council of the PSI.
  3. Mr Sanchez Ros undertakes not to repeat his conduct as described above or engage in any similar conduct.
  4. Mr. Sanchez Ros undertakes at all times to practise in a manner which upholds public trust in the pharmacy profession, and which is consistent with the professional role of a Pharmacist/Supervising pharmacist/Superintendent Pharmacist and which provides for the safe delivery of pharmacy services
