Feedback Invited on the Core Competency Framework for Pharmacists

May 24, 2021

As part of the PSI’s commitment to advance the role of pharmacy and pharmacists in the Future Integrated Healthcare System, the PSI has committed to review the Core Competency Framework (CCF) for Pharmacists under the 2021 Service Plan.

We have set up a Steering Group to oversee and work with the PSI on the direction of the project. As part of this, we are looking to hear from stakeholders about their needs, wants, hopes and values for a reviewed core competency framework.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for people who would like to participate in the project work, provide their feedback and opinions on the current CCF and a proposed future CCF. We would like to hear from patients and members of the pubic, pharmacists, pharmacy owners, pharmacy students, those working in education, industry, areas of role emergent pharmacy practice, national and international regulators, professional bodies, and anyone with an interest in competency frameworks. We are seeking to get a wide range of inputs and are interested in hearing from everyone.

What work will be involved?

We are proposing to host a number of workshop sessions, both remotely and face-to-face, where possible. We also seek participants to assist us in reviewing and contributing to the outputs arising from the workshop sessions. In order to get as much engagement as possible in the project, we will engage with you on your time availability. Your participation in this project could be in a single workshop, reviewing and feeding back on proposal documents, or answering surveys arising from the workshops.

When do I need to be available?

We are hoping to carry out the project work over the summer and autumn months. We will look to fit in with the time availability you have.

How do I express my interest?

If you are interested in assisting with this project, please complete this application form.

Applications are welcome until close of business on Wednesday, 9 June 2021. Further information on the working group can be found in this information booklet.

Please contact Andrea Boland at andrea.boland@psi.ie if you have questions about this project.
