Dr Ambrose McLoughlin appointed Secretary General of Department of Health

Dr Ambrose McLoughlin has been appointed by the Government as the new Secretary General of the Department of Health.(link to DoH release)
Dr McLoughlin’s appointment as Secretary General is effective immediately so he has resigned his post as Registrar and CEO of the PSI, a position he has held since 2004.
Ms Ciara McGoldrick, Director of Fitness to Practice and Legal Affairs at the PSI, has been appointed Acting Registrar by the Council on an interim basis and a process will be put in place for a permanent replacement in due course.
The PSI wishes Dr McLoughlin every success in his new position.
